Description:
Join this Oil and Gas Leader as a Senior Tax Manager. This position reports to the Director – Compliance and Reporting, with extensive visibility to VP- Tax and significant exposure to the CFO and VP- Controller plus significant interaction with Ernst & Young auditors. This position also assists the Tax Planning group and the Tax Operations groups with accounting treatments of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, rig movements, and restructuring plans. The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for
preparation of the U.S., Switzerland and Luxembourg annual and quarterly tax provisions
reviewing the consolidated annual and quarterly global tax provision, including recording, categorizing and monitoring global FIN48 positions,
managing all external audits,
assist in the monitoring training of worldwide tax provision staff
drafting the required disclosures for SEC Forms 10Q and 10K, internal reports and related press releases,
calculating the effective tax rate used externally by financial analysts and internally by management,
U.S. tax compliance for federal, state and local tax returns and
management and direction of the team of tax reporting and compliance professionals.
Responsibilities:
Tax planning and management of operating structures. Aid in tax accounting treatment of operating structures for new operations and existing operating structures
Compliance management Prepare and review all US federal, state and local income tax returns and remittance of estimated tax payments, and ensure compliance with US transfer pricing regulations.
Tax controversies management Aid various tax groups to manage tax audits, supply information and support the company's FIN48 positions.
Reporting Management Review and prepare FAS 109 calculations and FIN 48 positions for consolidated financial reporting. Review local statutory books and related tax adjustments.
Oversee accurate and timely filing of local income tax returns and remittance of estimated tax payments..
People development Oversee the development of subordinates through delegation of responsibility, preparation of individual development plans, and provision of regular feedback both informally and via formal evaluation process.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance. CPA and/or JD required. Travel: None Type: Full-time Required Experience:
8+ years experience required. 12+ years preferred.
Extensive experience with international tax accounting and complicated international tax provisions is required. Thus, this position will need experience in drafting SOX controls, working with various types of financial software, and ensure those programs work properly.
Ability to analyze business information and developments and their resulting impact on the U.S. tax provision, and extensive experience in preparing high quality and fully documented budget tax provision calculations for use in internal reports
