SUMMARY:
Develops and maintains existing and prospective North American sales accounts for the Phenol and related products manufactured by Haverhill Chemicals LLC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with instruction and supervision by the Commercial Director but operates independently on a day-to-day basis from a home or corporate office.
Focuses on accounts of various sizes, sometimes with multiple sites of responsibility (i.e. plants, technical, corporate, etc.) to stabilize or grow volumes for Haverhill Chemicals’ products.
Develops and maintains relationships with key decision makers and influencers within an account, from corporate level down to production personnel at factory level to establish value at all levels of an organization.
Responsible for recommending the account strategy for all accounts within the assigned territory. This includes number of sales calls, involvement of technical service resources, senior sales and top management involvement, etc.
Facilitates / coordinates all functional resources to deliver on sales plan and develop new sales opportunities.
Possesses expertise, based on comparable sales experience, in developing and executing sales strategies, face-to-face selling skills, time management, and organization of priorities.
Maintains a constant awareness of customer performance versus expectations and future requirements as well as current market dynamics that could possibly affect such performance.
Participate, when appropriate, in corporate meetings to address overall sales strategy or specific account needs and issues.
Perform the primary role in the organization outlined by this job description, and any other job responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
Maintain prescribed standards of ethical behavior, professionalism, and corporate responsibility at all times during the performance of required duties.
Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic chemical knowledge and business skills.
Strong Communication Skills – Written, Verbal & Listening.
Organization – Good Time Manager & Self-Starter.
Strong work ethics. Good Interpersonal Skills. Good problem solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software tools.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline, and 5+ years of chemical sales experience. Master’s Degree a plus.
