Demonstrates and instructs dental and dental hygiene students on exposing and processing dental radiographs. Additional Summary Specific to Job Recruiting for two positions in the department of Clinical Services. Come join our team and bring your expertise to our department of Clinical Services at the Dental Branch. - Exposes and processes dental radiographs. - Instructs and demonstrates dental and dental hygiene students on exposure and processing of dental radiographs and on proper infection control procedures. - Evaluates technical quality of radiographs produced by dental and dental hygiene students. Evaluates dental students and hygiene student's proficiency in radiographic techniques. - Maintains the Oral Radiology Clinic and darkroom. - Maintains quality assurance programs on all dental radiological equipment. - Cleans and maintains intraoral processors. Trouble-shoots problems with extraoral processor. - Enters extraoral radiographic appointments in computer on daily basis. - Maintains inventory supplies, coordinates student/patient room assignments in clinic, maintains and files radiology procedure paper work. Organizational Requirements MINIMUM EDUCATION: Qualified as a TSBDE registered dental assistant; or Graduate from school of dental hygiene and currently registered in Texas. One year of dental assisting and radiologic procedures required; two years preferred. Graduate from school of dental hygiene. CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Qualified to perform dental radiographic procedures by being a: 1) Licensed Dental Hygienist currently registered in Texas; or 2) Dental assistant currently registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) Departmental Requirements/Preferences Salary Range Commensurate with experience This position works with Houston Independent School District (H.I.S.D.) students.
