Position Summary

Under general supervision, perform limited transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high degree of accuracy. Maintain accurate transactional records, providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Process withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, and credit card payments made by cash or check. Accept payment for the sale of money orders, traveler's checks, and treasurers checks and maintain a register for each. Process credit card cash advances, account transfers, wire transfers and gift cards. All processes are to be completed in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner.
· Process mail-in deposits and payments. Assist in processing member returned mail.
· Balance cash drawer daily in accordance with the Credit Union's policies and procedures.
· Complete payroll deduction cards for member when requested.
· Assist in releasing holds on approved ATM deposits and issue ATM & debit cards to members.
· Respond in a professional manner to members' inquiries, requests, problems, or complaints; guides members to the appropriate staff for specific information and assistance.
· Cross-sell credit union products and services to members by identifying a financial need and communicating the features and benefits of each product and service.
· Assist members with access to safe deposit boxes.
· Order checks for members & issue temporary checks.
· Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Credit Union's teller platform, ATM, and other related equipment.
· Promote teamwork by assisting others with work when needed or when own work is complete.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Basic understanding of financial operations.

Skills

· Effective oral and written communications skills to converse in person with members and correspond in writing.

Abilities

· Analytical ability to quickly assess members' financial needs and offer solutions.
· Ability to resolve most member transactional problems and to recognize when supervisory attention is needed.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure/policy/training manuals.



Experience

· Six or more months experience using a personal computer with Windows based applications and experience in interacting with people or customers.

Education

· High school diploma or equivalent.
