Title: Peripheral Vascular Tech(PRN)St. Lukes's The Woodlands Location: The Woodlands - (Woodlands and Lakeside) Other Locations: Operates ultrasound equipment and performs a variety of technical diagnostic procedures which encompass the specialty areas of Echocardiography and Peripheral Vascular Imaging. Provides a preliminary report of procedure completed. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care of completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic tests inclusive of positioning patient, calibration of equipment, documentation of findings. Technologist is responsible for the clinical procedures, the technical quality, the patient care, quality improvement programs, policies and procedures and assist with financial planning. Coordinates and performs routine special procedures and has knowledge of all procedures related to the peripheral vascular and cardiac lab. Acts as the technical expert providing training and guidance to co-workers, physicians and students. Coordinates the day-to-day scheduling and technical operation of the PV lab and Echocardiography lab is responsible for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Responsible for guiding the enhancement of skills for all echo/vascular technologists and is active in all research and teaching activities of the lab. The technologist assists the Manager as needed, and communicates departmental activity.
Successful completion of a two-year health related program in a related medical field, which include seminar course training in cardiac ultrasound. Registered by American Diagnostic Registry for Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Must be registered as RVT and/or RDCS. AND/OR Combination with: Registered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as RVT and/or RCS
