Responsibilities

Position: Segment Marketing Director - Retail Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer
Division: Business Development & Shared Services

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, with dotted-line reporting responsibilities to the Executive Officer ofRetail, the Segment Marketing Director forRetailoversees the strategic development of annual marketing plans in support of the LOB goals. This individual also leads a team of senior marketing managers and external service providers who work closely with line of business partners to optimize the Bank’s return on investment for marketing spend in excess of$20MM through the execution of integrated quarterly marketing plans. Specific duties include:

* Builds strategic marketing plansfor both Consumer and Small Business Segmentstargeted to address and support various LOB objectives, including acquisition, cross-sell, and retention ofRetailcustomers – with particular focus on sales support, targeted events, lead development, and pipeline tracking.
* Lead the integration of and application of all customer insights, research, and analytics into the development of value add marketing initiatives that constitute integral parts of Business Plansfor both Consumer and Small Business
* Sources and compiles competitive analyses, benchmarking data and product trends for major competitors, drawing recommendations on how best to position BBVA Compass in the marketplace
* Oversees and facilitates budget allocation, through business case development and Management/Marketing Steering Group approval, for all LOB Marketing expenditures. Is then held accountable for Return on Investment for all Management/Marketing Expense Committee approved LOB Marketing expenditures, as reported by Customer Intelligence/Finance.
* Provides strategic counsel and direction in marketing, business development and sales initiatives in order to hit target goals.
* Provides leadership in the development of a segment-based approach. Provides the customer centric view which may result in new processes and approaches to acquiring, cross-selling and retaining households.
* Responsible for leveraging, integrating, and applying work done throughout Marketing (client experience, research, etc.) and for building strong linkage where relevant to the other LOB Managers (especially Wealth Management and Small Business), Customer Intelligence, Channel Management, and Management team.
* Maintains active working relationship with entire network and segment management team and regularly leads and participates in thought leadership sessions surrounding Retail and associated Consumer and Small Business segments
* Builds a team of strategic marketing professionals and outside vendors knowledgeable in specific sub-segments who are value added partners across all aspects of the business.
* Provides direction in marketing oriented technology initiatives, channel initiatives, new product initiatives to the LOB and provides direction to Brand, Digital, and Operations teams with respect to creating work needed by the LOBs to support the initiatives.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field. MBA is preferred.
* Minimum of10years experience,including in-depth experience in financial services including Product, Sales, and Marketing experience. Analytical skills and prior selling experience a must have. Able to work with senior executives to probe, prioritize, influence the setting of initiatives and the deployment of initiatives.
* Decision-Making and Autonomy: Complex decision making. Numerous sub-segments to partner with
* Problem Solving: High complexity due to various sub-segments
* Leadership / Influencing / Negotiating / Persuading:Strong leadership, influencing skills
* Project or Program Management: Strong, able to manage capacity issues, contention issues, prioritization
