Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer 2
Assists in the engineering leadership of teams representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers. Assists in project execution to complete the work statement. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers. Works with customers and management to obtain approval. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and assists in directing supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Aids in the development of and utilizes project plans and integrated schedules to execute the project. Supports technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. Works under general direction.

• Mech Component/System Eng
General knowledge of mechanical component and system design, analysis, and integration. General knowledge of the tools required for design, analysis, evaluation, and integration (i.e. computer aided design systems, mathematical modeling software, tolerance analysis software).
• Proposal Processes
General knowledge of government, company, and local policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., Estimating system manual, FAR, DFAR, TINA, ITAR, Procurement integrity, Export Compliance) relating to the development of cost proposals. General knowledge of proposal, accounting, and rate development (common systems). General knowledge of audit, fact-finding, and negotiation processes (e.g., self audit, internal audit, government audit, effective negotiation) and how they affect the proposal process.
• Supplier Tech Management
General knowledge of project and supplier techniques (e.g., design reviews, schedule reviews, production readiness) required for the management of the supplier's technical activities (e.g., design, development, test). The ability to develop technical requirements and evaluate supplier performance as related to those requirements. The ability to distinguish between requirements and objectives and to balance between those requirements and the supplier's capabilities and limitations. Capable of working effectively with supplier technical team in assessing product/system issues or designs.

Typical Education/Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
