Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of MCP Telecoms Engineer located in Houston, TX through February 22, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
The Rosebank project is a greenfield oil & gas development in 1100m of water 150km NW of the Shetland Islands with an initial facilities investment of approximately $8 billion.
Facilities scope includes subsea systems, gas pipeline to shore, FPSO with large turret, moorings, risers and topsides facilities. Facilities engineering team members (Facility Engineer, Process, I&C, Mechanical, Civil, Marine Systems, Hull and Mooring, Risers, Subsea, and Flow assurance) are currently working with Worley Parsons Engineering in Houston, Texas to complete Phase 2 engineering and the project Class 2 cost estimate by the end of 2011. Project assurance and approval activities and FEED bid preparation are planned for the first 6 months of 2012. FEED engineering activities will commence mid-2012. The project Phase 3-4 gate is scheduled for the end 2013 and first oil is targeted for late 2017.
As a key member of the Rosebank Project Team, this position will provide leadership "by example" to establish and maintain an Incident and Injury Free culture at all contractor engineering, fabrication, and installation work sites.
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
* To design and review the Rosebank onboard telecommunications system for Rosebank to ensure that it is a fit for purpose. This includes radio, PA/GA systems, satellite communications, radar, offshore network, etc.
* Work with the project facility engineers, operations group and CUE IT department so that all requirements are fed into the FPSO design.
Required Qualifications:
* Technical: 5+ Experience of offshore telecommunications equipment, e.g. Public Address / General Alarm, Radio systems. Knowledge of the appropriate UK Regulations and Guidelines in relation to offshore telecoms. Knowledge of Networking technologies and IT infrastructure.
* Communication and Leadership Skills: Proven ability to effectively communicate effectively within multi-functional teams, FEED and Detailed Engineering contractors to ensure Telecoms and stakeholder interfaces are properly aligned. Ability to communicate across multiple levels and across multiple sites utilizing standard technologies. Should be proficient with the use of CSOC priming behaviors when working in group environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
