Instrument Engineer, Sr/Lead This position is:Contract Salary:commensurate with experience Position Location:Houston, Texas BS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or MS in another engineering or scientific discipline with at least 10 years of instrumentation engineering experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Licensed PE or EIT is preferred. Specialist knowledge of instrumentation and controls for the oil and gas industries and a general knowledge of other disciplines required. Advanced computer skills with MS Office programs. Knowledge of or experience with AutoCAD or other CAD and Database system related to instrumentation engineering. Good knowledge of ISA, NEC, IEC, API, NFPA and other codes and standards. Familiarity with industrial computer systems, motor control, PLC and DCS. Guides designer in developing the CAD/CAM drawing effort and utilizes the database systems and facilities to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment designs. Assists and/or checks the work of drafters and designers and less experienced engineers.
