Electrical Engineer-architectural development/project planning/control systems
Randstad has an Imeediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer for contract hire in Sugar Land. The project lead is expected to participate in all aspects of productd evelopment: requirements gathering, architectural development, project planning, and mentoring of other team members.
The project lead is expected to be engaged in new projects:
?Development of the new Cementing Acquisition and control system.
?Development of the new Fracturing field control system.
?Development of the next generation Fracturing field network and wireless system.
Competencies:
?PID controller tuning
?Firmware programming (C++ with RTOS, Siemens Step 7)
?Technical writing skills
?Supplier relations
?Adherence to schedules and budgets
?Basic engineering change-control processes (ECRs, ECOs)
?Firmware testing with real and simulated hardware
?Data analysis (Excel, Matlab)
?Estimation of task duration and resource requirements
Additional skills which would enhance capability in the position, but are not absolutely essential -
?Experience with CE-marking of industrial systems
?Experience with design of electrical equipment for use in explosive atmospheres (ATEX)
?Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing
?Network design and router configuration
?Experience with well cementing and fracturing surface equipment
?Modeling of dynamic systems
Responsibilities:
-> Direct Reports to this Position (Job titles): Junior Electrical Engineer, Electrical Technician, Test Engineer.
-> ASH Real time acquisition and control systems.
-> Lead a team to develop real time acquisition and control systems.
-> Firmware development for data acquisition and control systems.
-> Sensor and actuator selection.
-> Control system hardware selection (PLCs, HMIs, enclosures, cables, network switches, power supplies, etc.)
-> Preparation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
-> Creation of the product file for manufacturing.
-> Support of environmental qualification testing.
-> Verification of system function in the lab and in the field.
-> Construction of prototypes. Creation of schematics and diagrams.
-> Preparation of test plans and reports.
-> Critical analysis of product requirements and creation of specifications.
Requirements:
-> Master of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
-> 7-10 years engineering experience.
-> 5+ years experience as technical lead.
-> Diverse set of technical skills to interact with other groups within multicultural team members. Knowledge of process control concepts (feedback and feedforward)
-> Communication skills.
-> Willing to work aggressive schedules.
-> High level of autonomy is required to enable development of these unique projects.
-> Close coordination with other interfacing projects is also required.
