Other Locations:
Responsible for cardiovascular ultrasound imaging and other cardiovascular non-invasive testing which promotes safety and well being of all patients within the system. The individual will need to complete position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within the appropriate time frame, and must be flexible with his/her work schedule and be available for call coverage. This position involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.

Job-Related Skills
* Demonstrates ability to operate cardiovascular imaging equipment and produce quality images according to department protocol for interpretation by the cardiologist.
* Basic knowledge of EKG lead placement and stress testing.
* Must be proficient in the following ultrasound procedures: TTE, TEE, Stress ECHO, Carotid Ultrasound, Arterial Ultrasound and Segmental Pressures, Venous Ultrasound, and EKG.
* Independently follows department imaging protocols and obtains high quality cardiovascular studies for interpretation by cardiologist.
* Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology and effects of disease process to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield and to obtain necessary diagnostic information as a part of cardiovascular imaging process.
* Completes department appropriate technologist worksheet.
* Maintains patient records and logs in accordance with department policy.
* Maintains equipment and reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.
* Independently maintains accurate digital images/worksheets within PACS archive system.
* Perform other duties as required
Education
* Required: Candidate must be a graduate of cardiovascular ultrasound program. Vascular registry required with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Vascular registry eligible candidates may substitute experience for formal ultrasound education. Vascular registry eligible candidates must obtain vascular registered status within six (6) months of job description acceptance. BLS required.
* Preferred: Echocardiography registry
* Maintains education and development appropriate for position without management follow-up.

Experience
* Required: Must possess minimum of 1-3 years technical experience in cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound.
