Business Development Manager / Sales Engineer
We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to help grow its sales base of specialty chemical reagents in the Mining Industry. With world base metal and industrial mineral prices at record highs, there are significant opportunities in the fast growing mineral processing sector to significantly increase this company’s market share.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the Business Unit Oil & Mining Services is a leading provider of products and services to the oil, refinery and mining industries. Clariant Oil Services provides global reach and is represented in major oilfield locations. Products and services from Clariant Mining Services provide reliable explosive emulsions at the blasting site, improve the commination and beneficiation of a wide range of ores, control dust at mine sites, and improve the stability and quality of fertilizers.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Visit potential and existing mining customers in the United States and Canada • Maintaining contact with engineering houses and labs • Keeping up to date on new mine and expansion activity • Supervising trials and management reviews • Preparing reports and market studies • Have a good track record in technical sales
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy or equivalent • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience will also be considered • There is no requirement to go underground • 6 – 8 years’ experience in the field • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English • The exercise of sound judgment, to work under pressure and make decisions and take action • Flexible and team oriented • Familiar with the mining industry and in particular, mineral processing • Must be a good communicator • Must be a problem solver and look for solutions that are of value to the customer • Have the potential to move into higher management • Willing to travel at least 30% of the time visiting mining customer sites
