Position Description

AVP Operations and Strategy -Global Services

Global Services Operations and Strategy Leadership Position
Area VP of Operations and Strategy reports directly to VP of BMC Global Services. The incumbent performs a variety of responsibilities such as:

1. Planning: Assist the VP of Global Services with centralized planning including financial and resource planning
2. Chief of Staff: Assist VP of Global Services in quarterly and annual business reviews, budget process, and overall running the day-to-day operations. The role will help prioritize strategic initiatives in support of the overall services strategy. Play a key leadership role in the direction and investments needs to run BMC global services
3. Program Management: Handles a number of simultaneous projects, demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion and be successful in a collaborative environment Planning and conducting project kickoff meetings; defining project scope; developing detailed baseline project plans; tracking/managing projects to successful completion; communicating status, issues and risks to project stakeholders; providing leadership to cross-functional project teams, and maintaining project documentation. Must have ability to organize and develop implementation strategy and roadmap for large and complex business and technology initiatives.
4. Operating Rhythm: Create and manage effective, scalable processes to manage operating rhythms such as operating reviews, metrics/analytics, staff meetings, global visits, and operating excellence processes. Will work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company and customer quality.
5. Operational Alignment: Work closely with all business units and functions to align operations with strategy. Effect results by maneuvering through appropriate formal and informal organization channels. Influence across all levels Executives and Directors in the organization.
6. Executive Presentation: Collaborate with other Professional Service Leaders and to prepare for Executive Ops Reviews, All Hands and budget proposals.
7. Communication: Partner with Communications to plan and execute key messages and delivery to internal and external audiences. For example: quarterly newsletter, weekly updates, Leaders Meeting presentations, external speeches/talking points, etc.
8. Champion Employee Engagement and Diversity: Lead the team's efforts to significantly improvement employee engagement, including advancing Talent Planning, Mentoring, and the formation of Employee Engagement teams. Also champion the team's efforts to mature our understanding and actions to increase the diversity of the team.

This position will also be responsible for increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall Global Services business. The individual in this role is also responsible for a set of services initiatives that cut across the services organization. These include, but are not limited to, launching new services lines, strategic partnership with internal partners, driving operational efficiency programs, acquisition integration and a variety of cross-corporate initiatives.
The role manages 15 global direct reports

This role is responsible for leading the integration of the Global Services team with other customer lifecycle functions within BMC. This includes Legal, License Sales, Order Services, Best Practices, Mergers & Acquisitions, Revenue Recognition and Internal Audit. The role is responsible for representing Global Service to these internal functions and works to create efficiency and synergy in the process that interlink these functions/organizations. In addition, the role is responsible for key business and internal controls (VSOE, SOX, etc.)
Position Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:
Requirements - The ideal candidate will have:
. 10+ years of Professional Services experience in a fast growth Enterprise Software organization
. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to successfully relate with all levels including senior executives.
. Strong initiative, good judgment, decisiveness, and analytical capabilities.
. Experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and general business administration.
. Broad understanding of the Enterprise Software and Solutions
. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
. Strong performance history and record of success in a global services organization.
. Comfort operating in an unstructured and fast-paced environment.
. Strong financial and operational skills running a services organization
. Solid people and relationship skills.

Preferred - It is preferred the candidate will have:
. General knowledge of company's processes, or significant experience in leading a multi-disciplinary initiative, planning process, or operational project.
